Boogie Bash™
What is Boogie Bash™ ?
Boogie Bash™ is a weekend of organized events for motorcycle enthusiasts with riders from all over British Columbia, Canada, and the United States in attendance. This adult only event has become a Boogie Bash™ Family of over 1,500 supporters annually. Events throughout the weekend include Bike Games, Show ’n Shine, Burn out Pit, Poker Run, Tattoo Contest, Merchandise Booth, Live Bands, Beverage Gardens, Food and Product Vendors. Whether a rider, motorcycle enthusiast or dreaming of owning a motorcycle in the future, individuals come out to enjoy a weekend of fun and music and support the Society of Injured Riders (SIR)™.
Who are we, your hosts!
The Society for Injured Riders (SIR)™ is a not-for-profit society that provides assistance to motorcycle riders injured as a result of motorcycle accidents and their family members who are dealing with those injuries and the impact they have on the rider and on the family. We provide assistance which includes moral support, financial support in the way of gift cards, funds to assist in paying for long stay hospital televisions, paying bills for the family or funds for other expenses, as well as providing referrals for medical equipment or for assistance in navigating insurance difficulties, to name a few.

Note: Due to Gaming BC Regulations (Licence # 133318) if you would like a Scattered Mother’s Poker Run T-Shirt you will have to purchase the shirt in additional to your poker card, $10 cost. If you would like to order a commemorative T-Shirt, please register no later than Midnight Sunday May 8, 2022.

Weather
If you decide on Saturday morning that you are not able to attend the Poker Chip Run, please call or text 778-692-2274 so we are not waiting for you at each stop. In the event that it rains we will play using the Out of Towns style.
Scrambled Style
We will not be having a shot gun start at one location – you will pick your route and one of the SIR Board or their handy little elves will be at each location for you to pick your poker chips. We have adjusted the times due to the coolness in temperatures over the last month.
NOTE: We tried this way in 2021 due to COVID and had great feed back so we will try again.

Timelines
Stops will be available between 10:00 and 3:00pm take any route you wish, go anytime you like, hit any stop in any order you wish…... as long as you have hit all the stops and have all your chips accounted for by 3:00 p.m. (on the DOT no late entries received)
Out of Towners Timelines
**OUT OF TOWNERS - OR OTHERWISE NOT ABLE TO ATTEND, WE GOT YOU COVERED**
Out of Towners/Non-Attenders you will receive three separate texts/emails to pick your poker chips between 9:30am - 3:30pm.
All texts/emails need to be received no later than 4:30pm
How does the Poker Chip Poker Run Work
- At each stop you will draw out 3 chips
- Colors will be noted on your card and master sheet
- Colors have been assigned points – each color will be worth a specific number of points examples. Black is worth 2, purple is worth 3 (you will not know those though)
- the points will be added up when you are done
- you will also be given a card to print when you register, for each hand you purchase, to keep a tally of your chips if you so desire. We will not have cards at any stops,
- Bring your own pen.
- Ties are broken with each person (or its representative) choosing a card from a deck of cards with the highest card number winning Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten, Nine etc.

Results published live on the Society for Injured Riders Facebook GROUP at 5:00 p.m. that day, add yourself if you aren’t a member.
Organizers will be at Peacocks Perch Pub in Summerland to tally results. You do not need to be in attendance to win – you are welcome to join us if you stay in your COVID Bubble –

Information
Participants meet at a pre-arranged point and pick up details of their route and the stops they need to make. Each participant is given a scorecard, which will be filled in as they progress along the route. At each designated stop, the participants draw a card at random. The card drawn is recorded on each participant's scorecard, and the winner of the event is the participant who makes the best five-card poker hand at the end of the event. The winning hand is determined by standard poker hand rankings.
Poker Run Rules
- Have fun.
- Take your time and have fun. This is not a race. There is NO prize for finishing first. Be safe and respectful to other vehicles and participants.
- Each participant can preregister at Kal Lake Lookout Lakeview Road, Vernon BC. Please bring cash, as we do not have interact or credit card capabilities.
- Each participant must sign a liability waiver.
- Participants may purchase multiple hands with no per person limit.
- First hand is $10.
- You must visit the 5 stops listed to get your cards.
- The winning hand is determined by standard poker hand rankings. There are no wild cards. There are no “5 of a kind” hands. In the event that there is a tie, there will be a draw with highest card (using poker rules) wins. You must be present to win!
- If you are playing multiple poker hands, you must give the hand you are playing to the staff at a location in order to draw a card for that hand. You cannot draw a card and then decide which hand to play it in.
Poker Hand Rankings
- Royal Flush: Run of sequential cards from Ten to Ace, with all cards of the same suit.
- Straight Flush: Run of sequential cards, all cards of the same suit, but not Ace high.
- Four of a Kind: Four cards of the same rank e.g. four Aces, four Kings, etc…
- Full House: Three cards of the same rank plus a pair, e.g. three Aces and a pair of Kings.
- Flush: Five cards all of the same suit. Straight (Run): Five sequential cards, not of the same suit.
- Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank e.g. three Aces. Three Kings, etc…
- Two Pair: Two sets of pairs e.g. a pair of Aces and a pair of Kings. Pair: Two cards of the same rank e.g. two Aces, two Kings, etc…
- High Card: If you have none of the above, then the highest value card in your hand plays.
Notes:
- Aces count high for all hands, e.g. a pair of Aces beats a pair of Kings.
- In a straight, an Ace can count low (e.g. A, 2, 3, 4, 5) OR high (e.g. T, J, Q, K, A) but NOT BOTH (e.g. Q, K, A, 2, 3) is NOT a straight.
- Prizes are awarded on the poker hand rankings outlined above, not on speed. We want all participants to have fun and remain safe, so please take your time on the run.
