Why I joined the bash family.
Well, it started with my dad Barney McGhee he would invite me down to drive one of the vans that they were using to run from the ranch to the pavilion (you know you can fit 23 people in a 15-pass van if you try). I have always been associated the right kind of people, just kind of grew up with them (in my blood you could say). I had been coming for a lot of years working the bar till all hours at the ranch, (sometimes making more after hours than when it was open) I really enjoyed the camaraderie.
So, one day I was asked to join the board and I thought about it and said yes (it’s really a great chance to help our downed Brothers and Sisters) sometimes its hard work and yes sometimes you don’t feel like you’re not noticed, but when you see the smile on peoples faces that you have helped it makes it all worth while. And So, when Coralee stepped down for personal reasons as president I threw my helmet in the ring and have had the pleasure of working along side some very passionate people in this origination, from our board members to all the great volunteers that make our jobs so much easier.
All that being said I can’t wait for this COVID shit to be over and get to see all the smiling faces once more. Keep the rubber on the downside, till we meet again! It is an honor and privilege to serve on this great board and hope to do so for a long time.
