In 1999 I became aware of the association and since I was a not so confident female rider, I thought this maybe was a great way to meet other female riders, so I signed up.
Well as we all know the best laid plans do go sideways sometimes. My late partner, Butch (Ron Gompf), who was an avid supporter of the cause and great friends with Gloria Taylor was injured on his way back from Kamloops after one of the fundraisers. At that time, I saw firsthand what the association was about and the support they provide. I promised myself at that time I would fight and work hard to always support the downed riders.
So, when you see this grey-haired old girl scampering around one of our events I am on a mission to support all downed riders and their families.
