My name is Chris and I am currently a Director-at-Large for the Society of Injured Riders (SIR). I have been involved with SIR since its inception, and have supported the Boogie Bash since 1993, when it was held at 8-Mile.
I am passionate about this cause, and continue to support the Society and its events even after moving to the US in 1997. I can say that the Fl-and-Ride I did the May when it was below freezing was one of the most interesting, with the rental decker showing 13 degrees F as I rode up the Hope-Princeton to Oosoyoos. The ranch was not much warmer, particularly when the band (BC/DC) did its sound check in the red barn, but nobody was allowed into the barn until they were finished. Fortunately, no issues with the ride. I have always enjoyed the bike games and was blessed to help with them again for the 2023 Bash.
A call to action from me is to find a way to support the cause. SIR is focused on supporting riders (and their families), whether they are members or not. This is a noble cause, and one worth supporting regardless of where you live and whether you ride!
I am looking forward to seeing this great family of riders and supporters at Bash 2024! In the meantime, ride safe and get your tickets early!
